I didn't ever think that I would start a blog or even post in one. But what the heck, Rick has made this available to us, so this is it, my first blog entry.
I just don't have a lot to say. I'm a fairly quiet person until you get to know me and really don't like to get into discussions about controversial subjects, like religion, politics or the state of the Postal ervice. Life it too short to get upset about a lot of things. Sometimes work gets to me and I forget that I don't want to get upset, but then a couple of hours, days, weeks later, I remember that it's only a job, I just need to make 4 clock rings a day and then forget about it.
I've been on vacation for the past two weeks. Felt real good to get away for a while. I go back to work on Tour 3 tomorrow, so the fun is done! This was my third vacation this summer and now all I have to look forward to is training in Norman. Any time away from the plant is like a vacation, even if it is in Norman. I have two more courses this year, until the new fiscal year, both for the AFC . The first one is 8 days, and the other 6 weeks.
For this last vacation, my sister rented a beach house in Michigan (Grand Haven) and my sisters and brother, had a mini reunion for a week. There isn't anything like living together again after so many years! Except this time, we didn't have Mom keeping us in line. It was also the first time my 2 1/2 year old grandson got to play on the beach. Except for the fact that his Daddy wasn't there, I think he had a lot of fun.
I probably won't post to the blog much, but then again, who knows.
